The 2-day seminar was held for 36 participants in Kathmandu at the Nepal Olympic Committee premises hosted by Nepal Triathlon Association. The participants come from varied backgrounds with some past athletes, university graduates, sports’ teachers, swim coaches to sports’ officers. They all showed enthusiasm in training to become triathlon technical officials and shall officiate at 2018 Pokhara NTT-ASTC Triathlon Asian Cup this weekend.
“I was pleased at the questions the participants asked as it showed there was a high level of interest and learning taking place. Thank you to Nepal Triathlon Association for hosting this seminar.” said, Melody Tan, facilitator for this seminar.
“ It is a great opportunity for Nepal Triathlon Association to have this course allocated from ASTC as we are hosting South Asian Championships next year. With this number of participants, we hope, we have enough technical officials to host the triathlon championship in SAG.” said Nilendra Shrestha, President Nepal Triathlon Association.
“It was great experience for me and my team to learn about the working of TO under the guidance of Melody. She is the great facilitator and always ready to solve our queries. This course will help us to improve the standard of conducting the National races in our country and also to educate other coaches and official of our country.” Pooja Chaurushi, Head Coach India.
Ram Babu Kashyap, 49 from Nepal, “I work in an International School and love sports. As a person who has limited knowledge in triathlon, I felt the training was very informative. A person with limited knowledge at the beginning, I am now confident of being a TO regardless of the exam result. The course was nicely paced with practical, theory and breaks to keep us alert for two whole days.”
