A seasoned race on the World Triathlon Series, London broke from its traditional course, this year offering up a fast and furious sprint race through Hyde Park. The splash and dash course called for high speed and saw some epic battles go down.
In the women’s race, Gwen Jorgensen continued to find her groove and she sailed to her second consecutive win. Meanwhile in the men’s race, hopes were high for home favourites Jonathan Brownlee and Alistair Brownlee. But with a loaded field firing on all cylinders, it wasn’t meant to be.
In a surprise turn of events, Javier Gomez and the Brownlee brothers were beaten out by Mario Mola, Richard Murray and Joao Pereira down the blue carpet when the trip turned in up a notch in the final stretch. It was certainly one of the more memorable races of the year and we have the photots to prove it. Vote for your favourite now.
